The Link Spotter app has to be added as tab to a channel of a team. Then the app will show the links of channel messages.
There are multiple ways of adding the app to a tab. You can directly navigate into the target channel and search for the app there. Or you can first search the app and then select a channel to which the app should be added.

Way 1: Go to the channel directly and add the app

To add the app as a tab, go to “Teams“ in the left menu of MS Teams and select a channel in a team you want. There is a “+” button on the top of the channel besides the already existing tab(s):

A click on the “+” will open a window that shows all available apps that can be added. If “Link Spotter” is not directly visible you can search for it with help of the search box in the top right corner of the window. Then select “Link Spotter”:

After selection a next window opens that shows some information about the app and us. To finally add the app, click on “Add” on the top right space in the window:

Way 2: Search the app and select

a channel

To add the app you can either click on the three dots or on the “Apps” entry in the left MS Teams menu.

When clicking on the three dots, you will see a window where you can search for the Link Spotter app:

When clicking on “Apps” you will see the actual app store. Here you can also search for the Link Spotter app:

After selection a next window opens that shows some information about the app and us. Click on “Add to a team” in the top left corner of the information window will show a search box, with that you can search and select the channel to which you want to add the app:

You get switched to the channel and a next window appears with a description of the app. Click on “Save” in the bottom right corner to finaly add the app as a tab.

App setup

After adding the app as tab, you may have to login. Therfore click on the “Sign in” button on the page .

Sign and sign in with your credentials.

Then the app can be used. For the very first adding to a channel, the setup process can take a while until all links where found in the channel. You can wait or return later to check the state. When the process has finished the app can be used.
