How to disable the macro "profile" in Confluence 3.4?

In order to show the customized user profile in personal spaces, user hover or with the macro {profile} the default macro {profile} has to be disabled. The default {profile} macro comes with the plugin "Profile Macros". The {profile} macro that comes with the User Profile Plugin has to be enabled. For more information please refer to User documentation
Because of a bug in the Universal Plugin Manager in Confluence 3.4 it is currently not possible to disable the default {profile} macro, see also Atlassians bug description UPM-1014
Workaround to disable the macro:
- call the old plugin administration panel at:
http://<server base url>/admin/viewplugins.action
- select the plugin "Profile Macros" and disable the module "profile macro"
