The proxy only works when Confluence is run on a Windows server. If the proxy causes problems, you can disable it. You can also change the port on which the proxy listens for requests.

- The proxy listens on port 56000 by default.

If you disable the proxy, then Confluence will only be able to communicate with SharePoint using NTLM. It will not be able to use NTLMv2 or Kerberos.

- Access the Proxy Configuration page directly by typing the following URL into your browser (where "confluence" is the name and context path of your Confluence server): http://confluence/admin/sharepoint-admin/proxy-admin.action
- The 'SharePoint Connector NTLM Proxy' screen appears, as shown below. Enable, disable or configure the proxy as required.
