Login required

To be able to search for Microsoft 365 user profiles, you have to be logged in to your Microsoft account. If you are not logged in, you'll encounter a prompt:

Configure the macro

Once logged in, you can configure a list of Microsoft 365 users based on their position, department, or location. At least one of these filter criteria is required. To validate your configuration, use the “Validate” button to see how many users were found for the criteria you specified.

Limitations
The given filter criteria in the input fields for position, department or location cannot be longer than 120 characters due to a limit in the Microsoft Users API.

 

By clicking on “Customize display,” you can configure the number of users displayed on each macro page.

 

 


Store the configuration

After adjustments, save your settings using the “Insert“ button. This will confirm your configuration and display the customized macro on your Confluence page.

 

Using the Contact List macro

When you view a page with the Contact List macro, you will see a list of Microsoft 365 users who match the criteria specified in the macro configuration.

 

The macro will show a maximum of 10 users at a time. If the result contains more users, you can browse through them using the pagination below the list.

Next to each users profile picture their current online status is shown with a little icon.

Quick actions

You can interact with user entries shown in the list to quickly get in contact with your colleagues.

Start Microsoft Teams Chat

Next to the username there is a button available to start a Microsoft Teams chat. Clicking the button will open the Microsoft Teams application on your device and start the chat session with that user.

Copy action

When you hover over the email or telephone number, a "Copy to Clipboard" icon appears. Click it to copy the information to your clipboard so you can use it wherever you need it.

Email action

Clicking the email of a user listed in the Contact List macro opens the associated email application.

Phone action

Clicking the telephone number of a user listed in the Contact List macro opens the associated phone application.
