Authenticate to Jira Cloud

Sign into Jira Cloud

When the app is used for the first time the user will have to sign into Jira Cloud. This ensures that all relevant data can be requested live for the current logged in user in the browser.

Figure 1: Sign-in screen

The authentication process will launch a new window where you have to sign-in with your Atlassian account and give consent for the application permissions. Detailed information about the scope of each permission can be reviewed by expanding the according section.

Your are able to revoke these permissions at any time. See https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/manage-your-users-third-party-apps/ for further information.

Figure 2: Consent the Atlassian application

To proceed with the authorization process, you need to select one of the available sites from the list.

It is only possible to consent one Jira site at a time. Consenting multiple Jira sites requires you to perform the sign-in again for each site.

Authentication result

Once the authentication process is finished you will see your result on the next page. After a successful connection you can close the window and start using our app.

Now you are ready to start by editing the web part settings and select the issues you want to show.

Switch to another Jira site

In case you have multiple Jira sites available for your account and you want to switch to another site you are able to do so through the “Jira Sites” section in the WebPart properties.

Here you can switch between already consented Jira sites. In case the site is not consented yet you are able to add another Jira site, which will trigger the sign-in process explained above.

Switching the Jira site will clear other filters like the Selected Jira issues, but will retain the JQL query which was previously entered.
In order to view results from the newly selected site a search needs to be performed through the Search button.
