This page provides an overview of the Communardo SharePoint Connector for Confluence and the components it interacts with.

SharePoint Online

Remarks

All communication between Confluence and SharePoint is done by the client of the end user (i.e. browser). Direct communication between these two servers is not necessary.

To access the SharePoint Online REST API, the SharePoint Connector must be registered as application in Azure Active Directory. 

SharePoint on-premise

Office Online Server is required in order to render Office documents to appear as a preview on Confluence pages.
