Synchronizing user directories without LDAP connection (v 3.3)
User Profiles for Confluence can also synchronize data from user directories that are connected through one of the following third party apps:
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219400/user-sync-users-provisioning-sync-group-sync-confluence?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview (starting with version 2.1)
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1212129/saml-single-sign-on-confluence-saml-sso-oidc-user-sync?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview (starting with version 5.1)
When User Profiles for Confluence is installed, the attributes configured in User Profiles for Confluence can be mapped via User Sync connectors and kept up to date via the apps Just-in-Time Provisioning feature. This allows to synchronize user attributes from a cloud Identity Provider like Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, or Google in the absence of an LDAP sync.

With this setup you do not need to configure the mapping of LDAP attributes as described on Configure User Profile Elements (v 3.3).
