Configure Microsoft connection

User Profiles for Jira Cloud needs access to your Microsoft 365 organization to be able to display information from there.

User Profiles for Jira Cloud needs the following permissions:

Be aware that the list of permissions may be altered in the future.

To enable User Profiles for Jira Cloud to fetch information from Microsoft 365, you (a Microsoft tenant administrator) have to give your consent to our app.

  • go to User Profiles for Jira Cloud configuration page > Go to the Jira settings User Profiles configuration in the left sidebar in the User Profiles section.

Because of security reasons it is currently only possible to connect the same Microsoft 365 tenant to one Jira Site or Sandbox.

If you want to connect the already configured tenant to another Jira site or sandbox, you must either configure another Microsoft 365 tenant for the original Jira site or unsubscribe and uninstall the app on the original site.

If you need this feature, you can vote for it on this page: Connect more as one Jira Site to the same Microsoft tenant.

Reconsenting

When introducing new permissions that require consent from the Microsoft 365 administrator, a reconsenting process must be followed. This process requires action from both Jira and Microsoft 365 administrators.

Since the initial consenting process has already been completed, Jira administrators can simply provide the previously generated link, found at the "Connect to Microsoft 365" tab of the User profiles configuration page, to the Microsoft 365 administrator.

The Microsoft 365 administrator can then follow the link and provide consent for the app. The consent form will include the newly requested permissions as well as any previously consented permissions.
