The Microsoft 365 administrator will be guided through the approval process.

Step 1 - Basic Information

Information about the Jira system that is about to be connected to the Microsoft Tenant is shown. Clicking the “Give consent” button will forward to Microsoft.

Step 2 - Give Consent in the Microsoft 365 tenant

Microsoft will show a login screen. A Microsoft 365 tenant administrator needs to login and give consent for the installation of the “User Profiles for Jira” app.

Step 3 - Approval Successful

The Microsoft 365 administrator gets an information about the successful consent. With this the approval process is successfully done.

Reconsenting

When introducing new permissions that require consent from the Microsoft 365 administrator, a reconsenting process must be followed. This process requires action from both Jira and Microsoft 365 administrators.

Since the initial consenting process has already been completed, Jira administrators can simply provide the previously generated link, found at the "Connect to Microsoft 365" tab of the User profiles configuration page, to the Microsoft 365 administrator. If the link is already expired use the “recreate link“ functionality to get a new valid link for the tenant administrator.

The Microsoft 365 administrator can then follow the link and provide consent for the app. The consent form will include the newly requested permissions as well as any previously consented permissions.
