Metadata Report macro
The Metadata Report macro is used to display a table of pages belonging to a Content Category with the assigned Metadata values. The pages to be shown can be configured with filters.
The table prepared and inserted by the macro on a page can then look like this, for example:
How to use
To enter the macro into the page, just select it from the macro browser.
Macro Columns Configuration
You can configure the columns of the Report macro to display either specific or custom Metadata fields. Once you select the Content Category, you will see the option “Display all fields” selected. By default, all the Metadata fields will be pre-selected and displayed in the same order as per the configuration.
If you want to display only specific Metadata fields, you can select the option “Display selected fields”. This way, only the fields you select will be shown in the Report macro in that same order. The field needs at least one Metadata field selected. You can then save the configuration.
The resulting Report macro columns will be the same as the selected Metadata fields.
Filtering
You can filter for pages that belong to a specific Content Category by choosing one from the dropdown in the macro editor. There is also the option to filter for pages that have a specific value in the Metadata field that belongs to the selected Content Category. You can filter for values of all Metadata fields which are available in the selected Content Category.
Current page filter
If you use a Metadata field of the type "Page link" in your Content Category, you can now also filter for all pages that belong to the selected Content Category and that use the current page you are on as a value.
Then all pages which are assigned to this Content Category and have the value you have entered in the chosen Metadata field will be shown in a table, along with their Metadata field values.
Permissions
Metadata respects permissions. Of course, the table (image above) contains only pages to which the current user has access. So keep this in mind if your results differ from those of your colleagues.
